Patrick Niles Ordination


On Sunday June 29, 2008, recent Concordia Seminary graduate John Patrick Niles was ordained during a 2:30 pm service at St Pauls. Guest Preacher was The Rev Dr Richard Marrs, from Concordia Seminary, St Louis. Following the service, a reception was served by the Board of Parish Fellowship.

Patrick has accepted a call as Associate Pastor at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Concordia, Missouri, where he will be serving with former Associate Pastor Rev Lee Hagan. Patrick and his wife, Katrina, will be moving to Concordia later this summer.

Vacation Bible School "Jerusalem Marketplace"

VBS was held during the week of June 9 - 13, from 5:30 - 8:30 pm each night. We had over 100 children in attendance, and nearly 80 youth and adults in various staff and behind-the-scene roles. To see pictures from VBS click here

Adult Discipleship Classes begin April 14

Adult Discipleship Classes are scheduled to begin meeting Monday April 14 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. The 11 week class will meet through June 30 (no class on May 26 - Memorial Day). The class is intended to prepare non-Lutherans for membership in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, as well as providing a good review of basic Christian teaching for current members. The class will be taught by the pastors. Non-members who complete the course will be eligible for membership at St. Pauls, however there is no obligation to join. Free Childcare will be provided for the evening sessions.

Eric Peckenpaugh selected to Honor Band

St. Paul's member and Reitz HS student Eric Peckenpaugh is among Eighteen area high school students who won seats in the Indiana All-State Band and Honor Band, organized by the Indiana Bandmasters Association.

David Feigel wins county spelling bee


St Paul's member David Feigel, representing Evansville Lutheran School, won the Vanderburgh County Spelling Bee on Saturday February 2, 2008. David came away as the winner after besting 45 students who participated. (Click on either small photo to see a larger version)

Feigel will now move on to the Tri-State Spelling Bee on March 8.

Monday evening bible study

The Monday Night Bible Study provides the opportunity for adults that cannot attend Bible study on Sunday morning to study God's Word in a group setting. The Bible study covers various topics of the church or various books of the Bible. Class begins immediately following the 6:00 pm service.
